creative play

Inspiring you to become more playful through art-forward, hands-on activities.

Some people might hear the word ‘creativity’ and think, nope - not me! Whether you’re an expert calligraphist or can’t even draw a stick-figure person, our collection of creative partners are meant to inspire you to discover the creativity within. And, if all else fails we just want you to have a little fun. We want you to remember what it’s like to be playful. Our creative play partners range from:

  • Florists | think: succulent planters, wreath-making, bouquet arranging

  • Calligraphists

  • Food + drink experts | think: how to make a charcuterie platter and cocktail mixing

  • Jewelry makers

  • ...and more

We aim to partner with creative experts who are uber-passionate about what they do. If you have a class you’ve been wanting to explore, let us know

jessica chung | pretty prints & paper

PROFESSOR, SMALL BUSINESS OWNER & BLOGGER

Jessica is a huge enthusiast for calligraphy, bullet journaling, lettering, and creative endeavors in general. She started her business, Pretty Prints & Paper in 2015 as a way to share her journey as she learned and grew in those realms, and using those mediums as a way to cultivate an intentional and beautiful life.

When she was a kid, Jessica’s mom taught her basic Italic calligraphy, and since 2015, she has been playing and practicing, giving her a new energy she could have never imagined.

Jessica also works full-time at a university, teaching college students.

amber newman | ediflorial

OWNER/DESIGNER OF A SUSTAINABLE FLORAL DESIGN SUTDIO

Amber’s love of Mother Earth's blossoming beauty led her to spend a year doing work-trade on over a dozen organic farms from Vermont to Georgia to California. While she didn't end up a farmer herself, she tries to garden every square inch of her city lot and prioritizes sourcing from small nearby farms for her design business.

Her services include full-service wedding design, four-season container gardening, decorating for bridal and baby showers, birthdays and anniversaries, holiday decor, styling for photoshoots and a 100% locally-grown bouquet subscription from spring to fall.

Ediflorial hopes to instill the spirit of the changing seasons in each project, respecting the land and its inhabitants along the way. They strive to partner with local makers and venues who work toward making the world a more welcoming and just place for all people.

carli vergamini Dudzik | crave by crv

SMALL BUSINESS OWNER: UPCYCLED GOODS

With a mission to rid the world of boring accessories (& re-purpose a few awful eyesores in the process), CRAVE is a company built on the idea that the best fashions are fringey & up-cycling is cool. Carli has been making and selling stuff since she could hold a crayon & mix a pitcher of Kool-aid. She is the creative force behind CRAVE & an advocate for following your dreams.

She’s always wanted to make it big in the fashion world, & studying apparel design opened her eyes to what that entailed. When graduation day came, she ran as far away from a corporate cubicle as she could and created her own business, on her own terms. Using unique skills & techniques acquired from around the world + resourceful materials, she’s making kick ass accessories with an even cooler back story.

Nearly all of the leather you’ll see in her products has served a past life as a jacket, skirt, pants or vest. She’s always acquired an obsession for saving every scrap & saving kiddie pools from their inevitable doom.

If you want to hear more about Carli, and see her amazing products - visit her website! We also recommend following her page @prettygreatvintage on Instagram, where Carli features old products, and makes up the back story behind them - it’s truly entertaining.
